AAA Emergency Road Service

For 80 years, AAA has been rescuing stranded motorists. We can get you back on the road or to the nearest shop. AAA Roadside Assistance – Helping Members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Upgrading to AAA Plus or Premier Membership

AAA has made it easier to upgrade your Membership to Plus or Premier. Anyone can immediately join as Plus or Premier Members and existing Members can upgrade at any time, regardless of tenure or Road Service usage.

There is a waiting period policy for Road Service:

  • New Members who purchase Plus or Premier must wait 2 days (48 hours) to use their Emergency Road Service benefits

  • Members who are upgrading to Plus or Premier must wait 2 days (48 hours) to use their enhanced Emergency Road Service benefits

  • Existing Members may use the Emergency Road Service benefits of their previous level of Membership

  • All Membership benefits, like travel, discounts, and DMV services, may be used immediately

Please note that if you upgrade your Membership all the Associate Members in your household will also be upgraded.

Requesting AAA Emergency Road Service

When requesting AAA Emergency Road Service, please provide the following:

  • Your AAA Membership card number and expiration date
  • The exact location, make, model, year, color, and license number of the vehicle
  • Information on the nature of the trouble
  • When service arrives, be prepared to show the service provider a picture ID and your AAA Membership Card or a dues receipt

ERS Reimbursement

If you pay out-of-pocket for a service within our territory, (Northern California, Nevada, and Utah) because you do not have your Membership Card with you, we will reimburse you for the amount we would pay a contract station to provide the service (which may be less than the amount you pay for service) if you submit a receipt in your name.
