AAA Exhibit at SF Int’l Auto Show Features Six Alternative Fuel Vehicles

San Francisco, November 21, 2007

As part of its commitment to highlighting the future of the automobile, AAA of Northern California is featuring six alternative fuel vehicles in its 'Greenlight Initiative Showcase' at the 50th annual San Francisco International Auto Show.

"Many people are taking the future of alternative fuels into their own hands and converting their cars without the help of auto manufacturers," said AAA of Northern California spokesperson Jenny Mack. "The vehicles on display in the AAA showcase highlight some of these 'homemade' conversions."

The AAA Greenlight Initiative Showcase will be open to auto show visitors November 22- December 2. Cars on display include a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) from CalCars that gets up to 100+ m.p.g. (plus electricity), a Dodge Ram truck that has been converted to run on vegetable oil from the County of Alameda, a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle from the California Air Resources Board, an all-electric Toyota Corolla from Sun Run Cars, and a San Francisco Police Department patrol car that runs on compressed natural gas. AAA will also display one of the company's own fleet vehicles, a Toyota Prius. AAA has converted its entire company fleet of more than 300 vehicles to hybrids.

With dependence on oil continuing to grow, interest in alternative fuels has never been stronger. AAA of Northern California has identified a new chapter in the history of the automobile and is working to help consumers make sense of all the new options becoming available. The AAA Greenlight Initiative Showcase highlights the latest in alternative fuel technology and puts the spotlight on what drivers can expect to see on the roads in the years ahead.

AAA members are eligible for a 2-for-1 admission coupon for the auto show November 26-29. Coupons are available at select AAA offices and online at www.aaa.com. In addition to information about alternative fuels, the showcase will feature AAA membership and insurance information and the chance to win several prizes including tickets to the UAW-Dodge 400 NASCAR race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway; a Magellan Maestro 32100 GPS device featuring exclusive AAA Tourbook guide listings for quick routing to AAA rated hotels, restaurants, and attractions; or a weekend car rental from Hertz. AAA will also be giving away a AAA Motorsports uniform jacket each day of the show.

AAA of Northern California offers a wide array of automotive, travel, insurance, financial services and consumer discounts to more than 4 million members. AAA has been a leader and advocate for the safety and security of all travelers since it was founded more than 100 years ago.
